I'm a Registered Nurse and I find it VERY disconcerting that there is no standard - for ANY of the RA drugs being given in conjunction with vaccines and there are zero recommendations from the drug manufacturers. There have been exactly zero studies, yet somehow - physicians are coming up with treatment schedules / plans. I want to know why. I don't want to go blindly into taking something - when I'm already taking medication that could be quite problematic (and I have accepted those risks).

If we're taking a drug that suppresses our immune systems, then we take a vaccine that causes a profound reaction from our suppressed immune system (based on symptom reports), it's insane to believe that there is "no problem" with it. I want to know what the problems are - and aren't. I want to know the risks so I can make an informed decision. I want to see the science that backs it up. We are smart enough to make decisions based on facts, but instead we're being told to just take it along with the general public. We're a distinct sub-set of patients and we shouldn't be lumped into the "general public". We are taking medication that works exactly opposite from a vaccine - most of the drugs we take have a stated warning or instruction to finish taking vaccines prior to starting treatment. We need to ASK or even perhaps demand (politely, of course) information that will help us to make our decisions.

Stopping (delaying) my treatment is a huge deal - it changes my life for months, so I'm not eager to do that. Likewise, I'm not eager to take the two together. (In case anyone is wondering.... If you think I'm an "anti-vaxer", I've already received plenty of vaccines - and so has my child - so no).

Does anyone else think this way?

I had the Pfizer and did extremely well with both injections. I had no reaction and will be getting the booster in December.

My best friend had it a week ago and no problems I had the Astra zenaca and no problems as well

My Dr has recommended stopping biologics one week before to one week after vaccination.
Like you all, I am hesitant.

I'm certainly not a clinician but, my thought are the same as yours. I see my RA physician in April and will be asking this question. Should I gather informative information, I will certainly share it with you.
