Last week was #3 of prednisone weekly step down, methotrexate, folic acid, and Lyrica I developed vision issues. Got worse over the weekend. Today set appointment at nearby eye clinic. Diagnosed with toxic posterior subcapolar cataract due to the medication. Referred me to eye surgeon and said will get worse if untreated. I’ve had great vision my whole life.

I also have ra and fibromyalgia the doctor has me on lyrica for my fibromyalgia pain and plaquenil for my ra I have been on the plaquenil for several months it seems to do its job my pain has less than 50% then what it was when I went in to see the doctor I just started lyrica this week I'm going to give it a couple weeks if I don't see any marked improvement I'm going to discontinue it because of the horrible side effects that it can have

Yes, I also am on all of the meds you mentioned and now I have vision problems. I can’t imagine not being on lyrica though. The others I would switch. I have ischemic optic nerve neuropathy

Do they know which meds caused your vision problems?

Prednisone can contribute but thats a very acute reaction you’ve had
Is it both eyes
Lyrica can give you blurry vision, double vision , itchy dry eyes
How long have you been on meds and there doses
Hopefully you’ll get into the surgeon urgently
I’ll be thinking about you
