Things went well with the eye doctor (ophthalmologist). He said in his 30 yrs in practice he has only seen one person who had problems with hydroxychloroquine over any extended time taking the drug. I have my baseline and now on the annual recall.
Plaquenil (hydrochloriquine) has almost completely destroyed my retinas. I had my annual checkups with my opthamologist and stopped taking it immediately when I noticed changes in my vision. The toxicity stays in your system for years and continues to cause damage even after stopping the drug.
I also have been experiencing heat flare up with perspiration. They usually start at the same time every night 9-30pm when I am getting ready for bed. I thought I was suffering a life long term of post menopause hot flushes until I read on here that it is my RA that is the cause. I also have noticed that over the last several years I am having to go to the toilet every 90mins to 2 hrs during the night. Is this also to do with RA ?. I am 71yrs of age.
I've been taking it fir almost 2 years, and yes I have. If im not wearing my glasses 24/7 things are blurred and by the end of the day my eyes are very tired and watering.
No I have a special test for eyes every six months no problems at all I have been on it for 7 years or so
