I just got done with getting out of a shoe from my 5th foot surgery in my lifetime. I have had to use a scooter, wear a boot, wear a shoe, sit on my butt for months at a time. I am thankful I have a great and INTELLIGENT foot doctor. But dang!! I think I will always have some sort of foot pain. I tell my young daughters that yes, most of this is from RA but also don't wear high heels that you have to squeeze into and always wear good shoes!
Thank you, I have "interviewed" 2 surgeons in Atlanta. I'm not confident that foot surgery would be successful. I can't imagine going through that many surgeries. I have yet to find someone that has a success story. Take care and good luck with your foot!
I just had my 6th and, hopefully, my final surgery. Over three years my foot just wouldn’t heal from surgeries. The bones collapsed. I had a cage put in December 20th. Going to see the surgeon Monday and get a cast. I’ve been on a scooter for 3 months. One thing I would suggest is find the best foot surgeon in you area. Don’t get a Podiatrist. They are limited in their care fo anyone with RA. Good luck, and hoping your foot will get better🌝
