I have noticed in last few months my hair is thinning out a lot . I have thyroid problems talked with that dr and she said my numbers were good . I will talk with ra dr next visit . No one seems concerned but me. Glad I have thick hair or I feel by the time they figure out what is going on I won’t have any.
I too have very thin hair now. Going to get off of methotrexate (it's really not helping me anyway) Hope with new meds that maybe just maybe its will grow back a little. I have a new Doc that is helping me finely. I am keeping positive.
RA doesn't cause hair loss but, most of the most of the meds to treat it do, methotrexate, steroids & most biologics. Also thyroid problems can also cause hair loss. Many people with RA also have thyroid problems and other autoimmune diseases. RA likes company!
@A myRAteam Member maybe you have thyroid disease. I have Hashimoto and it effects my hair. Also some RA medications can make hair thin. Like methotrexate. Are you on RA meds?
My ra dr has been weaning me off of methotrexate. I have completely been off of it for 3 weeks . I’m taking xeljanz xr , folic acid , synthyroid, bystolic I have hypothyroid with hasimotos. Plus I have a whole other auto immune disease. Misery loves company for sure .
