RA AND FEVER

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭
Atlanta, GA

i am new to my diagnosis, but not the symptoms. However, this one is a new one for me —running fever off an on (low grade). I feel like its making everything worse but dr said it was another symptom of ra. Has anyone else experienced this and if so did it make you feel worse or?

Yes fatigued is part of RA symptoms but it is more common in SLE or Lupus patient. Mine start with joint pain, mysterious fever that like on and off switch and hair loss. I thought it's an RA but lab test result came and it's an SLE for me. I don't understand why your doctor dismiss that kind of fever.

@A myRAteam Member you sound like you have a not so great rhematologist. First of all, doctors cannot feel what we are feeling they can only assume and try to understand so him telling you fatigue is not a part of it is ridiculous everything you look up about RA has fatigue as a symptom. I know it affects everyone differently but thats one of the main symptoms if i did not havs my adderral i would never get out of bed. I hate when doctors dismiss things i have been dismissed by many and told millions of times its in my head and i def do not have an autoimmune disease ane finally met the right doctor (rhematologist) who did the right blood test that showed the antibody for the disease. If i would have never went to her i would probably never known til it got really bad i also was runnin a fever low grade when i got there but felt fine and they said it was normal i felt the crappiness later on
