Methotrexate Dizziness

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone use meclizine to counteract dizziness from their Methotrexate? My doctor said I could give it a shot, but I hate the idea of taking even more medication! Any other suggestions?

I have only had 2 doses of MTX. After the first dose I missed a half day of work because by the afternoon (of the day after) I was so dizzy I couldn't see straight...didn't drive for 2 days. My rheumy cut my next dose to 4 pills (from 6) and had me add an antihistamine. I had less dizziness afterwards but still didn't drive today. I go up to 5 pills next week, and she mentioned the meclizine to help with the side effects. Do they normally get better on their own?
