I noticed several times that I at times get what feels like a blister way back on my gum. I forgot to mention it to my RA doc at the last visit. I know he used to ask me if I had any soars in my mouth. But lately he hasn't asked. I just noticed I have one again same spot. Anyone else has had this??

Members shared experiences about mouth sores from methotrexate, with some describing severe ulcers that erupted weekly and others noticing painless blisters that would appear and shrink within hours. Several members offered practical solutions including folic acid supplements to prevent sores, lysine supplements, medicated mouthwash, and additional medications prescribed by doctors to counteract the side effects. A recurring theme was the importance of reporting these symptoms to both rheumatology doctors and dentists, especially since one member had a blister develop into a growth that required removal.

This is very normal. I take another medicine to counteract the sores. I will look it up when I get home and get back to you. Once I started taking this, it helps keep them under control.

My Dr. prescribed Folic Acid and I take one daily to prevent mouth sores. Have not had any inside my mouth at all but do get little pimple like bumps on my lips sometimes. Guessing it is coming from the MTX.

Yep--many years ago when I was on it for 9 months and one turned into a growth that my dentist removed. Make sure you let your doc know.
