Methotrexate made my pain 100x worst and made me sick also. I took it with plaquenil and later luflenomide. 1-2 hrs after taking it the pain was almost unbearable and then I got sick. I dropped it last winter and changed my diet which did help but I was still in pain but better than I was. Started Cannabis oil iaround the end of the summer and most of the pain and inflammation was gone in a couple of days. I take 1 ml per day in the evening. Life changing for me.

Folic acid is not absorbed well by many. It was not working for me so I purchased some methyl folate and the mtx side effects are gone. You can buy at any health food store or online. Just make sure its "Methyl" folate. It's much better absorbed. Good luck!

Methotrexate was the worse for me and the longer I took it the worse it got. I always either had nausea or I was throwing up all the time. Folic acid and anti-nausea pills did not work. I now take Enbrel which is better because I am not always feeling sick. It too may not work all the time.

Yes! I couldn’t tolerate methotrexate in the pill form even w zophran Prilosec and folic acid. I switched to the injections and life changed. I could eat again and hold down fluids and the meds seemed to start working. I’ve been on the injections for almost 2 years.
