Doc just said it's time to try infusions. Nothing else has worked for me. Is it worth it? I'm really nervous even though the reviews online were generally good...
I have been on Remicade infusions since Jan 2016. It takes a while for it to actually work. Honestly, for the first year I was thinking about just stopping altogether because I didn't see the benefits.
After many adjusts, I can honestly say that Remicade is one of the best things to work for me. So much so that I have eliminated all the other meds that I have been taking. Flare ups still occur but they are much more mild considering how I had been doing.
I get infused every 4 weeks at 800 ml. It is a pain to get because Remicade is I believe the second longest infusion in terms of time spent at the office. However, my doctor's office has an amazing infusion staff that really make the experience less of a pain. I am flu-like for a day or two after but the benefits to far exceed these minor inconveniences
Yes!!! Been on infusions for several years. They used to take about 2 hours. Have now cut it down to about one. Just relax for an hour!
Infusion #1 done. Feeling a bit icky today but hopefully, it will work.
Keep us in the loop! Hugs!
Do you take any other medications with this? I will be taking it as a solo therapy since I've had weird reactions to most everything else. Wondering if it will work well in this manner. I see others take MTX and other medications along with Remicade.
