My husband was diagnosed with RA a year ago. Dr started him on Plaquenil and Prednisone. Had a bad reaction to the Plaquenil. and so was put on Methotrexate with no real relief over the past year. Now Dr wants to start him on Enbrel! $1275 a week before insurance. Our BC will pay some but right now have not found out what our coinsurance will be.... a lot I am afraid! I see where the manufacturer will help but do not no how much.
Has anyone out there gone through the process?

Members reassured someone worried about affording Enbrel by sharing that the manufacturer offers robust copay assistance programs, with many reporting they paid as little as $5 to $10 per refill or even zero out-of-pocket costs. Several members described how pharmaceutical companies stepped in when insurance coverage fell short, covering deductibles and continuing medication access even during coverage gaps, with one member emphasizing that manufacturers committed to never leaving patients without the drugs helping them. A recurring theme was the importance of contacting the manufacturer directly, working with your doctor to enroll, and remembering to renew assistance cards annually to maintain benefits.

Enbrel has helped me alot . They have several ways they can help with your co pays they will contact you and set everything up. They even sent a nurse to my home to teach me how to do injections and explain everything. A great help line for assistance too.
