Members connected deeply over the shared struggle of walking barefoot at home with rheumatoid arthritis, with many describing sensations of walking on bones, stones, or experiencing sharp radiating pain, especially first thing in the morning or on hard surfaces like tile and cement. Several members shared their coping strategies, including wearing supportive bedroom shoes or slippers throughout the day, choosing sandals with built-in arch support like Tevas, soaking feet regularly, and in one case, undergoing surgery to address cartilage loss in the foot joints. A recurring theme was the cascading impact of foot pain on the entire body, as compensating for painful feet can lead to issues in the knees, hips, back, and even sciatica, along with the reassurance that others truly understand this isolating daily challenge.

Idk, I’m not able to stand on mine for over five hours, or I have soreness, pain, like nettles in them and they are hot. Not sure about roughness. Wish I could have been more help.

Always. My feet hurt most of the time. I always wear comfortable slippers or shoes.

It's hard for me to walk barefoot but I just thought it was from me being flat footed. I also have to walk around wearing something with arch support. In Florida I can wear sandals most of the year so I wear tevas. Look it up online. They are not flat like most sandals. There's a built in arch. They help me.
