Members connected over the frustration of being misdiagnosed before receiving a correct RA diagnosis, with many describing years of uncertainty where doctors initially called it fibromyalgia, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis before eventually confirming rheumatoid arthritis. Several members shared that high rheumatoid factor blood work helped confirm their diagnosis, though some noted that RA can exist even without positive blood markers, and that shifting symptoms or overlapping conditions like osteoarthritis and psoriasis often complicated the diagnostic journey. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of waiting months to see if new medications work, changing doctors for second opinions, and the deep desire to reclaim the energy and life they had before chronic pain took over.

@Wildman I went to the doctor because I felt bad just achy all over within about 3 days they called and said I had ra because my Rh factor in my blood work was really really high. Have they checked your blood work lately? I know there are also some who have ra but their blood work does not show it at all but they still have it from the symptoms.

It’s not easy. Believe that it’s ok if you don’t get everything you wanted to do done. It’s ok if you can’t help everyone too. There’s always tomorrow. It’s a mindset you have to get into. Financial stress is the worst. I really don’t have much advice on that one. Things always seem to work out in the end.
