@A myRAteam Member I can't believe your rheumy didn't tell you about folic acid. You should be taking that with your methotrexate. OTC is not strong enough. Call him/her and get a prescription.

Hi, I just started mtx injections. The first was 15mg and it made me very sick with nausea and stomach pain. He had me wait 2 wks. and I did 10mg on Monday and I haven't felt ill so I guess maybe I can tolerate the dose then they may up it a bit in a month. Idk it's all new to me as recently diagnosed and just had steroid injection so hopefully will last until the mtx kicks in I hope. Good luck to you and I would try the smallest dose then go up to see how your body reacts with it.

Hi @A myRAteam Member, I never used Methotrexate injections. I took the pills and after 12 years, I ended up with double lung pneumonia, two years ago, and almost lost my life. So, please be careful with this medication. As far as Biotine, I take the vitamin form, 10,000 mg, 1 gel cap per day, and my hair is has gotten very thick and healthy. Best, @A myRAteam Member 😊❤️❤️

Just make sure your rheumy gives you a prescription for folic acid and you take it every day. Vitamin D is also recommended. Biotin can help with the hair issues as well.

You can take the injections right away. Make sure to watch the video they recommend first. Good luck and God bless.
