I was a part of the clinical trials for Xeljanz. It was invented for people, like me, that could not tolerate Methotrexate. I found the Methotrexate to cause fatigue in addition to what RA brings on its own. After the trial, I went on XeljanzXR, which is time released.
Pfizer does have a program to assist with payment. I am blessed to have a Wonderful Medicare Advantage Plan that covers most of the cost and the difference is covered by "Extra Help".
You might check to see what Federal and State coverage is available to you for medical coverage.
Your Rheumatologist and/or their insurance person should be able to help you with this information.

Methotrexate injections are used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) among other conditions. They can be administered intramuscularly, intravenously, subcutaneously, or intrathecally. Methotrexate helps by decreasing the activity of the immune system, which can reduce pain, swelling, and loss of function in joints.

Thank you, I wish you well also😊I do get the rituxan infusion every six months for my arthritis and a kidney condition so am hoping this will help with pain management

Yes, Methotrexate can cause hair loss. Been lucky so far, no hair loss but very fatigued.
