Cathie, Methotrexate did help, but it sure made my liver enzymes go up and up. The next step was Leflunomide, a cousin to MTX, and it went ok until it also caused my liver enzymes problems. Next was Humira, I took the shots once a week. That after awhile, effected my intestines, so switched to Orencia and that did about 1/2 throttle. Then came Xeljanz, and I've been in love, because so far it's the only biologic that comes in pill form. I hate needles too. Talk to your Rheumy if Xeljanz could work for you. I've been on Xeljanz since Feb. 2015, and have had it stopped twice because of liver enzymes, but started again and was fine. My next lab test is in October and then we'll see. I hate to have to quit it! I was actualy on Enbrel first and that never kicked in. We're all different. Good luck to you!

If your liver enzeymes continue to stay up they will take you off of it. Usually don't replace it with nothing. Are you taking folic acid everyday?

Please watch what you are eating. Maybe you are already and that is wonderful! But if not, please start. Stop the sugars, dairy and gluten asap. The side effects of these pills are worth a change in diet. Just a thought - I want us all pain free or at least close to it! Hugs and blessings!

I also was loosing my hair., My Dr. prescribed two Folic Accid and that stopped loosing hair. Back to normail hair now. Good luck

Humira gave me zero relief. Orencia infusions are going well. I take them very 4 weeks.
