What's with the stiff neck side effect? I experience this if i take 200mg regularly for more than 3 day in a row. If i skip the 2nd pill when I can my stiff neck problem stops. What does this mean?

spoke with my doctor and she said that you can start and stop it. She said I should start taking 100mg a day instead of 200 and see how I feel and that it is ok if I take an extra dose if I'm having a bad day or skip a dose. She said to keep on it like that and see if my symptoms improve. I feel fine at 100mg but the beneficial aspect doesn't last all day. I begin to feel pained by about 4-5pm. I only take a second pill if I can't tolerate the pains.

as for the sulfa issue - yes, I have had issues with sulfa drugs but from what I've read on Celebrex, though it is a sulfa drug, doesn't tend to react the same as other sulfa drugs for some reason. Not sure why. I told them I was allergic to Sulfa's and that sulfanazine and sulfa antibiotics gave me serious headaches so I won't take those. BUT I have been on Celebrex before and it did not do this to me. Maybe I have become more sensetive to sulfa with age or exposure. Who knows.

but, now this is totally anecdotal, when I was on Sulfanazine I had serious stiffness of my neck. If I took the dose Rx'ed for 3 or 4 days in a row I would begin to feel relentlessly dehydrated and my head and neck muscles would feel like dry leather. It gave me a constant headache until I skipped 1 or 2 doses. This recent stiff neck issue felt very similar. I do think it is an issue with the Sulfa aspect.

I am going to continue with 100mg a day (as my doctor suggested) until my supply runs out and then discuss switching meds. I spent $45 out of pocket for it and honestly don't feel like wasting the money and it DOES work really well as long as I shift my dosage as needed to get max benefits without the stiff neck problem.

I'm taking sulfa too and I have the same problem. I didn't know it was because of that 😫
