Do you have IBS or gallbladder problems?
I also quit dairy and gluten. My middle finger that had been swollen and painful for six months went back to it's normal size within a week! Just like Jaimesmom said, I don't see how it can be denied that food has a direct line to RA pain. Good luck!
Agreed about the food triggers. I think everyone has to figure out what their triggers are. Dairy is one of mine. Grains are one of mine.
Without a doubt! And it took me years to come to that conclusion along with the fear of taking a chemical drug with so many side effects. I did my research and eliminated gluten- I was addicted to bread like somebody to a drug. I tried now for several years to test my intolerance and everytime I am slammed with miserable migraines and terribly inflamed joints. When I wasn't getting the same relief from a strict gluten-free diet I started to look at other inflammatory triggers and found that Dairy is my next culprit. I've been vegetarian my entire life and I used to consume lots of cheese so this is Been even more restrictive. I'm almost 43 and I become even more overweight leaning on gluten free food and have to clean up my diet to eating macrobiotic and More vegan. When I use my NutriBullet blender and eat very very clean with very little prepackaged food and take my supplements including fish oil that I understand is not vegan I feel so much better. Unfortunately my body is very reactive to triggers the older I get and cheating is just become painful with the repercussions. I tried having an open discussion with my rheumatologist about it she assured me Diet has nothing to do with ra i 1000% disagree with her but where I live have very few options for practitioners. I've been reading about Celiac induced rheumatoid arthritis and have diagnosed myself with that based on my reactions to gluten. I don't jump on bandwagons it was the last thing I wanted to do but I was desperate and it actually worked. Good luck to you guys!
Yes to both. Found changes to diet help. Still get flares of IBS and some occasional gall bladder symptoms. No where near as bad as they used to be. I cut out caffeine, limit gluten and lactose.
