Wondering if anyone experiences profuse sweating from everywhere like I would assume hot flashes would be like. 2nd question muscle spasms, when I turn a certain way using back or trunk muscles I get these painful spasms like a charlie horse in my back or in my side. It happens everytime I move this way and it keeps me from doing whatever it was I was trying to do.

Members widely shared experiences with unexplained profuse sweating and painful muscle spasms, with many attributing these symptoms to RA, fibromyalgia, or medications like prednisone, methotrexate, Cymbalta, and Effexor. Several members found relief by adjusting antidepressant doses after consulting with pharmacists, while others learned that their muscle spasms were the body's protective response around inflamed joints, and some managed symptoms by increasing potassium intake or weaning off prednisone under medical guidance. A recurring theme was the frustration of unpredictable sweating episodes that disrupt daily life, paired with relief in discovering they weren't alone and that these symptoms are recognized side effects of both the disease and its treatments.

I tried more potassium that's what bananas are good for but that didn't work so it wasn't that. I did talk to my physical therapist and what she told me made sense, the muscles surrounding the joint are trying to protect the joint so in that process they spasm something like sorry I can't remember word for word but I started paying attention and when I get muscle spasms or twitches it's usually around the joint that is bothering me.

I find that I will suddenly start sweating for no reason. My hair will end up dripping. I'm pretty sure it's from methotrexate.

You wont believe this but I just read an article by a Dr Teitlebaum about the "6 weird symptoms of fibromyalgia". The last thing on the list was sweating. I couldnt believeit. It was on EverydayHealth.com
