Members shared that widespread foot pain is a common experience with rheumatoid arthritis, often caused by inflammation, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon issues, or early osteoarthritis, with some describing it as a stinging, burning, or bruised sensation that makes even standing or walking short distances extremely difficult. Several members found relief through practical strategies including wearing supportive shoes like Crocs or New Balance sneakers, using custom orthotics or gel insoles, trying laser therapy, and doing gentle stretching exercises, though many acknowledged the frustration of giving up pretty shoes and the trial-and-error process of finding what works. A recurring theme was the importance of cushioning and support, listening to your body to avoid overexertion, and finding solidarity in knowing others share the same daily struggle.

One of my feet started that a few days ago I bought a pair of those ugly crocs to wear around the house and good padded sneakers to wear out. the extra cushion seems to be helping.

Pain is mostly in my feet, but I have joint pain in my hands and elbows quite frequently. Feeling bruised is a good way to put it.
