Members connected over the shared experience of painful skin sensitivity that makes wearing tight clothes, bras, and even taking showers uncomfortable, with many identifying fibromyalgia as the likely cause alongside their rheumatoid arthritis or other conditions. Several members offered practical solutions, including switching to soft snap-closure bras, wearing camisoles or loose tank tops instead of traditional bras, and using capsaicin cream or nortriptyline for nerve pain relief. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of navigating daily tasks like getting dressed, putting on jewelry, or receiving hugs from loved ones, balanced by a spirit of adaptation and finding workarounds that preserve dignity and comfort.

I haven't wore a bra in a year because of it. I wear camisole or tank.

Lori, if you haven't been diagnosed with fibro, I would go talk to your doctor to see if you have it. Sensitivity to clothing usually is a symptom of fibro which I also have. Your skin gets so tender and sensitive, you don't want anything against it. The same goes for taking a shower. You cringe when the water hits your skin. It actually hurts at time when you take a shower.
