Hello.. Since May of this year I've had pneumonia three times along with three hospital admissions. I was even referred to Vanderbilt and was pushed out as fast as I got in. I finally went to see a immunologist and thank the Lord he kept doing labs and he found it. The human body carries 23 antibodies that fight different strains of pneumonia. The biologics I been taking for my ra has killed all but six. He said in his 30 years he has never seen anyone that low even his chemo patients. Waiting… read more

Members responded with gratitude and concern after someone shared their frightening discovery that biologics for rheumatoid arthritis had destroyed 17 of their 23 pneumonia-fighting antibodies, leading to three hospitalizations in just a few months and a diagnosis made by a dedicated immunologist after being dismissed by other specialists. Several members recognized similar patterns in their own health, including recurring respiratory infections, chronic coughs, and pneumonia despite vaccinations, with many planning to ask their doctors about antibody testing or see an immunologist themselves. A recurring theme was the critical importance of early intervention when coughs or respiratory symptoms appear, advocating loudly for proper testing when something feels wrong, and finding specialists who will listen and investigate thoroughly rather than dismiss concerns.

I have had this happen to me in the past. One year I had pneumonia from dec2 through March 17. Almost didn't make it through this. Will have to ask Dr about this. I have several cases a yr still. Thanks for the info. And hope your pain is bearable sometimes the worrying about it is worse than actual pain

Inzar if I start having a cough I go right to the dr. Last time I had pneumonia I had a cough several days and then I had a horrible pain in my left upper back for three days and when I went to the dr I had a large mass of pneumonia. On the biologics I don't run a fever or have a high white count cause my immune system is supressed so keep that in mind. I will not let a cough go very long.
