I have been ill a few times this year. Prednisone and medication has mask my symptoms so much, by the time I get to go to my GP it is pulmonary infection/bronchitis already. Every time I get put on antibiotics. I was sick exactly a month ago, had 2 different antibiotics and are now sick again

Hi Lanie, every winter for years I have respiratory issues. No matter what part of the country I was living in. Last winter I had the pneumonia vaccine and it was the first winter I didn’t get sick. Praying for the same this winter 🙏🏻 ask your doctor if the pneumonia vaccine might work for you. Hope you have a restful night 🤗
Thank you Katro, my oxygen levels are always low according to my smart tracker device. I have just blame it on the red blood cell size. Strongs to you ❤️
Hi Lanie, I have complicated with RA that includes interstitial lung disease which makes it hard to breathe because the bronchi are hardening and won't allow oxygen to get through to the blood stream. Those infections indicate lung involvement. Please ask for a CT scan of your lungs to determine if interstitial disease is active.
I have repeated bladder infections. The bacteria I normally get is antibiotic resistant which makes it difficult to treat. I'm on microdactin daily doesn't help.
Lanie chest infections sound far worse I'm sorry. It's a viscious circle
Are you taking antibiotics too frequently with RA?
Your concern about frequent infections and antibiotic use is completely understandable. When you have RA and take medications like prednisone, your immune system becomes suppressed, making you more vulnerable to infections. This creates a challenging cycle.
