My elbows have been sore for several days now. When I fully extend my arm the joint locks and then it's difficult to get it to straighten. I then hear a snapping noise and it releases. Certain angles make it hurt worse, for example of I turn to reach something. Since this started both of my forearms ache constantly like pulled muscles. My first appointment with the rheumatologist is coming up soon and my family doctor just said to wait for that to check it out.

You can have Rheumatoid with a negative Rheumatoid Factor. Mine has been negative but all other tests show I definitely have it. MRI's show bone deteriation in much of my body. Also there are many kinds and mine has went from most of my joints to deteriation in my ligaments and tendons in my shoulders. Good luck to you.

Mine also does that. I learned how the relieve the problem. I do not carry heavy articles around anymore. I bought a briefcase and a wirewire foldBle trolley that I use for work and all other carrying. People laugh at me and make rude remarks, but I don't care because my arms and elbows are slightly better. I also found that a tennis elbow brace helps a lot. I hope that you are having relieve from your hurting elbows by now.
PS: although initially diagnosed with RA, different Dr diagnosed Fibro. My last Rheumatoid Factor tests were negative. So I am not sure what I have anymore, but my pains are all the same.

Yes u have had elbows and thumb joints lock. I find a cortisone injection helps amazingly. Within a day the affected joint is back to normal and it lasts months for me.
