Salina, OK

I have been having an issue with my calves aching. This is a relatively new symptom and it's very painful. It's not knotting and aching, it's complete calf ache. Also my insteps hurt. Any one else have this symptom or do I just need to add it to my growing list of pain.

Members shared widespread experiences with calf and leg pain, connecting it to RA affecting tendons and ligaments, as well as overlapping conditions like fibromyalgia and plantar fasciitis. Several members recommended practical remedies including magnesium-rich foods like dark chocolate, nuts, and seeds, tonic water with quinine for cramps, daily stretching routines, muscle relaxers, massage, Epsom salt baths, and getting comprehensive blood work to check electrolyte levels. A recurring theme was the frustration of being dismissed by doctors for years, the importance of self-advocacy and experimentation to find what works, and the mantra of keeping moving through stretching despite the pain.

I just had a lab panel run and the only thing off is blood sodium is low - thanks for the suggestion!

Well I heard magnesium and calcium can cause that,so Im on a dark chocolate program to tackle that😉 so far no more cramps

Seriously, it could be dehydration, low calcium,or low magnesium. (Magnesium is in almonds, pumpkin seeds ,sunflower,cashews...)

So have some seeds, wash it down with chocolate milkshake haha
Feel better😘

I know that my father in law drinks tonic water for leg cramps, and it helps him.

I believe tonic water has quinine in it. At one point my doc said he could prescribe quinine but the FDA took it off the market. It's also supposed to help restless leg syndrome.

Hi I have them very bad. My doctor told me to drink tonic water . I forget what it is but something in it helps cramps. I haven't gone to get any yet. Well I had one but I need more. He said to drink 4 ounces a day.
