Members shared overwhelmingly positive experiences with biologic infusions for rheumatoid arthritis, with many describing significant improvements in pain and quality of life that outweighed their initial nervousness about side effects. Several members offered practical insights, including that Orencia infusions take only 30 minutes once monthly and work better than injections, Remicade infusions last 2 to 2.5 hours every 8 weeks with manageable fatigue afterward, and Simponi Aria may take 2 to 3 infusions before noticeable improvement begins. A recurring theme was trusting your doctor's recommendation when other treatments have failed, not dwelling on potential side effects, and recognizing that living without debilitating pain is worth trying these stronger medications.

I'm just wondering how you are doing with your infusions? I'm on my third infusion this month and feeling really good now.

I have been getting Orencia infusions for over 21 months and feel really well. The infusion takes 1/2 hour... I'm a little tired the next day but other than that I'm good.

And I would like to know also. I was told by a very reliable friend that it made a very difference in their life

I am on Orencia infusions and have been getting them for over 1-1/2 years with my success. I had no choice... have tried Enbrel (had reactions) and then Humira. When I retired and went on Medicare the cost of Humira would have been $800/month for ME. Can't do that. I feel really good with taking Orencia and tolerate the side effects easily. The benefits definitely outweigh the side effects. Everything we take can cause something else... I know for me I don't want to live in pain. Good luck!
