I have had mystery blood in my urine for about 3 months now. Had all the standard testing, everything is normal, including urine cytology to look for cancer as well as ct of bladder and pelvis with no abnormalities. Wow that was a run on sentence lol!

I am recently experiencing blood in the urine. It was picked up in a urinalysis at my physician's office, so I was sent for a CT that was clear and then to a urologist. My consult with the urologist also required a urinalysis which had blood in it. I went in this morning and there was still blood in urine, had a bladder scope and it was clear. The urologist and his nurse practitioner informed me that they had seen this before and it is quite common for those with autoimmune conditions to have blood in their urine due to the inflammation.
Bummer.....r u drinking plenty of water? Thinking back on it, that is what I did when no cause was found....I just kinda figured I would try to flush out whatever might b annoying my kidneys &/or my bladder.....also thought that at least it wouldn't hurt me as long as I didn't over do it.....just 8 to 10 glasses per day till my urine cleared.....oh, and I increased my Vitamin C intake up to 2000mg. Daily..the kind w/bioflavonoids in them to help strengthen the walls of your blood vessels......that also helps for reducing menstrual pain & excess bleeding.....it helps that I'm a Nutritionist..... Doesn't get rid of my RA though......DARN! But, no matter what.".......I'm TERRIFFIC .....no matter what....ππ€πππ
Yep. Been there, did all the tests u mentioned including the fun scoping of my bladder... Nothing wrong!!! Hmmmm glad 4 that, but wish I had been given a reason 4 it..... It took a few more weeks or so to go away, so all is good now
@A myRAteam Member I would suggest that you ask your pharmacist if you are experiencing a side effect or drug interaction from any meds you are taking. I have not experienced blood in my urine, but I have seen a urologist for other urinary problems. That might be a good idea for you, especially if you have access to a University or teaching hospital near you. Keep us posted on how you are doing, Mary. Wishing you well, my friend.
I also am experiencing this, with about the same timeline. I am starting to think it is medication related? They have done numerous tests and still no answers.
