I am going through this now. I was suggested to go through a lawyer as they can take on most of the work so you can focus on getting better. I have heard their is more success using a lawyer, and if denied the first time, they can get in front of a judge much quicker. Good luck!!

Hi my waiting time has come we are just waiting for the hearing they acknowledged that i have several disabilities it's just the wait Ga has s so many cases it's gonna take awhile

All I can say is good luck. I applied in 2008 and I am still fighting for it. They decided because the meds worked most of the time I could work . But if I work a couple of days in a row it takes 3-7 days to recover.. They cant understand a person that has RA is in pain constantly it doesn't matter what the meds do..

I was awarded disability the first time and in only 6 months. From the horror stories I heard this may be a record. Make sure your info is complete and accurate- especially DR's named and addresses. Develop patience and a sense of humor...

When you are filling out the paper work, use your worst pain and how you feel during a flare as your answers. That is what I was told by the SS worker. I was approved in 60 days without any doctor appts. I do have both wrists fused and have moderate to severe RA that just isn't going into remission with anything. Also, you can't be working when you apply. Hopefully you have disability benefits at work. They will deny you if you are working. It sounds ridiculous, but they assume you're able to work. The definition of disability is to be unable to perform ANY jobs. Best of luck.
