I go for food that is quick, easy, and comforting. Can't stand or use hands well enough to do much prep.
Sorry for your diagnoses :( that's great that your appetite hasn't been affected! Enjoy :-) I wouldn't say my appetite was affected either, however when I'm in a flare, I'm always afraid to eat. Afraid of eating the wrong thing and it causing more pain. I'm a believer that food affects my flares.
I don't feel it affects my appetite but I know certain foods will make me swell. Celery is my good friend, as well as staying away from too much salt.
I drink lots of water.
I know the feeling. In so much pain just to stand up I hate to cook when I'm in pain. Not that I don't like to cook because I love to cook. Enjoy making new stuff I've never tried to make. The pain I'm in from my flare ups stops me in my tracks from cooking. So not a side affect just not up to it.
What meds have you tried? I got lucky with the first one, plaquenil but it's not enough yet. I see my doc again Monday
