Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich foods can help...
Thank you for all the helpful tips. I appreciate having someone who understands help me negotiate through this as I learn how to deal with my issues.
Swelling is a big problem for me. When I am home I sit in my recliner and elevate my legs. When I am at work I elevate my feet on a little box under my desk. I know that the swelling gets really bad if I am sitting at my desk all day, so moving around is better than sitting down all day. Too much walking can also cause swelling so you may want to experiment and see what works for you. An epsom salt soak may help your feet. Omega3 and tumeric supplements may help reduce inflammation, or at least keep it at bay. Those are the two supplement that I take every singe day, even if I skip the others in my arsenal. Also remember that if you take OTC pain meds Tylenol is good for pain & fever while Advil is good for pain & inflammation. Finally, there are a lot of compression socks out there but they are really hard to get on so if you plan on sitting a lot or walking a lot try to get the compression socks on at the beginning of your day.
ice packs, if the flare is excruciating prednisone is the only thing that helps me. Hope you feel better. Sending prayers to you
