Rituxan has helped me more than humira. My rheumy saw no reason to try other meds that worked on t-cells once one didn't work then we went to b cells. Side effects not as bad as I thought they would be but everyone is different. As previously posted take things to keep busy and try to engage with other patients while there many are likely getting the same infusion as you. They are a wealth of information.

I also am on the IV. It's not so bad. The most pain you will feel will be if they don't put the needle correctly. One nurse turned me black and blue.

I've been on Rituxan since 2010 or 2011. It has helped me a lot. It's not so bad getting the IV infusion. Just make sure you have plenty to do. They last about 6 to 8 hours. Good luck.

I am in the same situation as you were two years ago, Lisa. I was on Remincade 15 years ago and developed breast cancer. Now my new rheumatologist wants to put me on Rituxan and, and the potentials side affects are terrifying. I would like more relief than what I am getting on leflunomide and hydroxychloroquine, but I am not sure about Rituxan.

This nurse is leary as well. I was asked to be in a clinical research trial for a bio similar for Rituximab. The side effects are very scary. I'm not sure I want to take the risk. I've had so many "rare" things happen in my life that it scares me when reading the possible negative effects of this drug. I'm not sure I will do this. Anyone have any of the negative side effects?
