Hi RA Team: I've been on Medicare and had a supplement - BC/BS for the past few years. I've been thru the regiment of the biologics - Humira, Enbrel, Rituxan, Remicade, Orencia, Xeljanz ..... now I'm on Simponi which is "covered" at a reduced rate at a Tier 5 level. However, come Jan. of 2017, it will no longer be a covered RX :( I've been on just about every other biologic available. Any suggestions on a Medicare supplement… read more
I am finally moving on to biologics after almost 2 years with all other drugs including methotrexate. I have gained aporox 30 lbs since starting the medications. I have been told the biologics will also cause weight gain. Other then a healthy diet how do I limit this weight gain? I am as active as I possibly can working full time. I have a very active physical job. Is there one biologic better then another? All this weight terrifies me, it makes the fatigue… read more
What is the best biologic to take? The shot at home kind (not iv infusion) What would you not recommend as well? I was told today by a second opinion that I was going to need one.
Has anyone experienced neurological issues since being on a biologic? A recent brain MRI shows a "spot"
on my thalamus. Physiatrist thinks Remicade caused it. I'm afraid to have my next infusion. I have an appointment with my rheumatologist next week but was wondering if anyone has any insight for me to take to my appointment.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Symptom wise I'd say my RA Is almost completely controlled . I don't flare , my aches are rare and are usually weather related or overexertion.

I have to change biologics the first of the year-no need to try to do it now with all the paperwork etc.. Involved in getting financial help at beginning of each new year! I've previously been on Enbrel for 3 1/2 years-loved it but it stopped working. Tried Humaria for 7 months now and it ISN'T working at all. My RA Doc said we would talk about options when I come in early January. I want to be informed about the different… read more
Are there any folks on this group in the USA who are on Medicare and using a biologic such as Humira or Remicade? I'm interested in knowing how you manage the copay. These drugs are beyond expensive. Any good strategies for cutting the costs?
