Has anyone tried using tumeric supplements to help control inflammation? If so, did you take it in lieu of your prescription or otc meds?

Has anyone tried using tumeric supplements to help control inflammation? If so, did you take it in lieu of your prescription or otc meds?

I have tried adding a tumeric supplement to my diet to help control inflammation. I stopped taking my voltaren and started taking the tumeric. After seven days the pain was too intense without the voltaren so I went back on it and kept taking the tumeric. Now I have no idea if the tumeric actually helps or not! The supplement I bought was expensive so I don't want to continue it… read more

Can we talk Trochanteric Bursitis? (hip bursitis)

Can we talk Trochanteric Bursitis? (hip bursitis)

Do any of you suffer from this without end? I've been treated with hip injections for several years now. I follow the physical therapy exercises without curing this problem. The shots quiet it down for 4 months or so and then it comes raging back. I'm wondering if this is a chronic problem for any of you and how you deal with it, like the loss of sleep? New latex mattress, new knee support pillow, voltaren gel, meloxicam..... Oh, what I wouldn't give for one solid… read more

Meds or natrual remedies or food?

Meds or natrual remedies or food?

I've only been diagnosed this year with RA. As I'm at a state hospital/clinic and they are in no hurry, it's going to take months to get onto any meds. They currently only give me voltarin for the pain. Is there any vitamins, remedies, special diet, etc that I can implement to help me minimize any further damage. I already get flare ups more regularly. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
