I went to my rheumatologist today. I will be adding Enbrel to my treatment plan as soon as insurance approves. I am currently on methotrexate injections and prednisone. The goal is the get off prednisone when I start the Enbrel. Has anyone had any luck getting off prednisone? How long did it take?
Since I have been on Prednisone I have noticed sweating for no reason, and being hot even inside with the air on. Now I am also on Humira. I forgot to ask my Rheumy Monday when I went to she her. Can these meds cause this? Thank you!
My RA is not "controlled" my doctor said cause I am having a high amount of activity he wanted to put me on enbrel. Personally I don't want to do injections, I'm scared. But I am trying to up my methotrexate to 8 tables now...and still 2mg prednisone, but he says that if I get off methotrexate he said I will be able to get off prednisone which is what I want....but I feel cornered....I don't know what to do....
I am struggling with the love/hate relationship with it. Nothing on earth can compare with it as far as wiping out the pain from a flare. I have made peace with the weight gain part, but the severe insomnia is unbearable.
I am down to 5mg a day right now to help control a recent flare, but still, it keeps me up until 5am, then I sleep all day - then I'm afraid to take it again - skip it for a couple of days so I can actually sleep (I know I'm not supposed to skip, but the insomnia is so bad) -… read more
Has anyone experienced steady weight gain and the inability to take it off?
I was taking 10mg prednisone 3 _ 3xday, 2_3xday, 1 _ 3×day finished 7/31/16. I don't remember how long the symptoms lasted.
I have sores all over the inside of my mouth and gums, everything taste like cardboard. Has anyone experienced this after taking prednisone? How long did it last? What did you do for it?
I have been taking plaquenil for 5 months and sulfasalazine for 2 months. They haven't been very effective, and my rheumatologist told me to prepare for a med change at 6 months. She said I could keep taking sulfasalazine but I would drop plaquenil and try either enbrel or methotrexate. I am not sure what I want to do at the moment. What are your experiences?
Mine is cyclical and usually happens before and after flares, but it can be up to 10lbs at a time. It is really visible in my arms, feet, middle of my thighs to my calves. My mom saw me the other day extremely swollen and said that I looked like a linebacker! My PCP said that my electrolytes could be off so she suggested drinking some gatorade during the day with my regular water intake. Although helping slightly, my arms and legs are still incredibly tight, the skin looks tight, you know? I… read more
