Are You Receiving Physical Therapy?

Are You Receiving Physical Therapy?

I am in the process of having Occupational as well as Physical Therapy and it seems to help with my RA.

A myRAteam Member said:

Water is great. However, I agree with BrittanyH that it is a delicate mix. I was taking one class and did fine for about 2 months. The last 3 classes I took felt like I was ripping my hip off. I… read more

Does Anyone Know Where To Buy A Rubber Steering Wheel Cover Or One That Will Help Eliminate The Hardness Of The Wheel Causing Pain

Does Anyone Know Where To Buy A Rubber Steering Wheel Cover Or One That Will Help Eliminate The Hardness Of The Wheel Causing Pain

I haven't been driving because of it. So I haven't been able to see my family as they live far and I drive there. Also for work it's made it difficult to not drive. I drive a Mazda 5 minivan. The top of the stick shift also has to be adapted. I decided to sell it and look for another car or an SUV. I've been to occupational therapy she doesn't know how to adapt it. I've taken it to my mechanic also. The mazda steering wheel is extremely hard material in the first place which makes it… read more

What Does It Mean If My Cortisone Injection Isn't Working?

What Does It Mean If My Cortisone Injection Isn't Working?

I got a Depo-Medrol shot- 3mls in my bottom- on Monday. I was told that I would have relief between 24-48 hours. However, it's been 4 days and I haven't had any relief. I lay in bed for three hours last night in terrible pain, wondering if I was going crazy and all of this pain is in my head.

Have any of you had cortisone injections that didn't work? Could you shed some light for me on reasons why it didn't work? Does it not working mean that my pain isn't actually RA or it's not pain from… read more

Has Anyone Else Found Physical Therapy Doing More Harm Than Good?

Has Anyone Else Found Physical Therapy Doing More Harm Than Good?

I cannot tolerate physical therapy especially of the spine. I've had surgeries and I'm sure that has contributed. PT just aggravates my fibromyalgia and magnifies my pain.

A myRAteam Member said:

I go to a specific arthritis program at the hospital. I tried traditional Physio; however it did not work for me. Check with your local arthritis society for programs near you.
Best of luck and hugs!
