How to avoid infections on biologics

How to avoid infections on biologics

Considering starting Simponi aria IVs in Dr.s office as other meds cause too many side effects. My concern after reading the material given to me on this biologic is a high risk of infection. I am 39 and still have 4 school age children who bring home illness throughout the year as well as my husbands two adult children are both expecting babies this fall. How much of a risk are you to infection really? And how do you avoid it with so many little germ magnets around?? The… read more

What does it mean if my cortisone injection isn't working?

What does it mean if my cortisone injection isn't working?

I got a Depo-Medrol shot- 3mls in my bottom- on Monday. I was told that I would have relief between 24-48 hours. However, it's been 4 days and I haven't had any relief. I lay in bed for three hours last night in terrible pain, wondering if I was going crazy and all of this pain is in my head.

Have any of you had cortisone injections that didn't work? Could you shed some light for me on reasons why it didn't work? Does it not working mean that my pain… read more

Last night I ended up in the ER due to breathing problems from cleaning with bleach. I never had problems to this extent with cleaning the way I always did before. I am still having breathing problems today, and just began a medrol dosepack today for this lung… read more

Dealing with fatigue- Does anyone deal with debilitating fatigue with aches and pain?

Dealing with fatigue- Does anyone deal with debilitating fatigue with aches and pain?

I am dealing with a worse flair and I am temporarily out of work for a few weeks. Doctor has me off all RA meds x10 days to see if it would help me feel better. I'm at 7 days off- the nausea is gone but I still ache like all hell all over. I am just starting a medrol dose pak to see if this will give a kick start. I work as a nurse in an office on the computer and I swear right now I'd never make it through a day. I'm supposed to… read more
