Remicade

Remicade

Is Inflectra another name for remicade? Or is Inflectra a different biologic?

A myRAteam Member said:

Looked it up on the internet and it said ,.,.,. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved four biosimilar versions of Remicade: Avsola, Inflectra, Ixifi, and Renflexis. I hope this helps.

Question About Flomax And Low Acid Diet

Question About Flomax And Low Acid Diet

I was diagnosed with RA 2 years ago and have been getting Inflectra infusions with some pretty good success - but still flare ups in between infusions.

After a recent trip to the Urologist, I was put on Flomax for BPH and the recommendation that I watch my diet and steer toward low acid foods, no alcohol, and low dairy. So I dropped milk and yogurt in favor of soy milk. Limited cheese. Kava instead of coffee. Very limited acidic foods.

I'm not sure what of the above is working but my RA seems… read more

Are you taking anything else besides the inflectra? While I was on Remicade (it's equivalent) I was also taking methotrexate.

My RA Has Now Migrated To My Instep And Toe Joints.

My RA has now migrated to my instep and toe joints. I am starting to limp. Any suggestions besides the meds I am already takin?

Question About Inflectra Infusion

Question About Inflectra Infusion

I had two Inflectra Infusions and about to have my 3rd one tomorrow. It seems to be helping quite a bit, however, as I approach my next infusion i can really begin to hurt more. Is this a typical experience
Also, I was shocked at the cost. Medicare picked up the major cost of the drug - ~$1,000 - but it looks as if the hospital is trying to bill Medicare for $11K and Medicare is only willing to pay about $1,500. Fortunately I have a BC/BS supplement and it will only cost me a few hundred… read more

I'm on Medicare with Cigna supplemental. O am on Orencia infusions at the doctor's office and I pay nothing.
Maybe if you didn't have it done in a hospital it would be less

Infectra Infusion, Joint Swelling

Infectra Infusion, Joint Swelling

Why am I swelling all over, every joint, after my second Infectra infusion? I am in so much pain from this. In the morning I cannot open my hands they are so swollen. I told my DR he said they are going to increase the dose? It feels like the damage is done, and my joints won't go back to before the infusions. Help me understand. I promised myself I would do this to feel better. Thanks
