Exercise and RA

Exercise and RA

I've heard it's good to exercise with this condition. Why? Obviously, exercise is good for you in general. But does it actually help RA in any particular way? Thx!

What is the best way to exercise? I cannot do sit-ups, push-ups, or even plank without hurting. What's an easy way to start exercising again where I dont end up feeling worse?

And don't dismiss Tai Chi. Slow, gentle movements but it really helps with stamina, endurance, and strengthening muscles.

Swimming.... You can pace yourself and your joints are supported. Even if you can't swim walking in the water is equally good for you.

Exercise

Exercise

What kind of exercise is recommended? I keep telling people who keep telling me to exercise that it is not that easy. For since before I was even diagnosed has always made me so tired after and I usually pay the price for it for the next day or a day or two later it hits. I'm just tired of people not listening and thinking I am making it up and just using my diagnosis as an excuse to be "lazy".

Water Exercise

Water Exercise

This is probably the weirdest if not stupidest question anyone has ever heard but it is something I have been wondering about for a long time. I have heard that water based exercise is good for RA but I cannot swim and I am short (4'11) when I have been in pools I usually always stayed in the 4' and under section (basically the kiddie area) so will my lack of ability to swim automatically cause e not to be able to take a water exercise class or something similar?
