Symptoms After Taking Methotrexate

Symptoms After Taking Methotrexate

Sitting here this evening after taking 6 pills of methotrexate this morning and having throbbing pains on my right hand and shoulder it seems it happens on the same day as I take the pills and then it subsides by the next morning does anybody have these symptoms? Is this the pills at work I wonder, weird! Plus I have major STIFFNESS today. Is this because of the cold weather?

I was like @A myRAteam Member. Originally I was injecting methotrexate once a week. I would get a glimpse of the vile out of the corner of my eye and would become nauseous. The drug itself made me… read more

I Have Had Constant Fever/chills/ Fever /chills Alternating I Get Them As Much As 3X An Hour To Once Every Hour .

am not sure what to do about this fever-chills-fever all the time. My body just wont regulate its temperature. It seems to have started with the mtx but I am seeing my regular doc tomorrow for a possible sinus infection and sore throat. This has been going on for the last month or so and seems to be getting worse

Steroids

Steroids

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to take for inflammation/flare other than steroids? Any good results with meds that help? I can't take steroids for more than a few days and a low dose. It's so frustrating because that's all my doctor seems to prescribe when I'm in a flare. I know it works quick, but the side effects are too much and it doesn't last. Suggestions anyone??

Shaking Someone's Hand

Shaking Someone's Hand

Does anyone have a creative and nice way to get out of shaking hands with someone? I work in retail sales and a lot of customers like to shake when we are finished working together. I don't mind nice gentle shakes but firm handshakes really hurt and you never know what you're going to get until it's too late.

I started losing my hair, and was also sicker than a dog. So I stopped the med. My hair still hasn't fully recovered. I hope you find a better solution and can look into something different.

Wondering If Others With RA Suffer From Nerve-like Symptoms

Wondering If Others With RA Suffer From Nerve-like Symptoms

Started with numbness/loss of feeling in my left pinky finger in 2014. That progressed to numbness below my left elbow, down the side of my left hand, pinky and ring fingers. Then it started in my right pinky finger. It is getting progressively worse. After being taken off methotrexate... loss of feeling in my toes, numbness across the back of my head, tingling in my muscles (arms, legs, butt), tingling in my spine, cold tingling waves down my arms, legs, torso, feeling like I am being… read more

Does Anyone Have RA (arthritis) In Their Rib Cage?

Does Anyone Have RA (arthritis) In Their Rib Cage?

For the past week I've been having worsening pain in my right lower rib cage area. Actually feels to BE the rib cage. No swelling but even to place a finger on it creates intense pain. Any movement, cough, deep breath or pressure is agonizing. Slight temp last night otherwise normal. Feels like I got hit by a baseball bat. No injury.

Has anyone else had this? Messaged rheumy and he just said to make an appointment. Messaged primary and haven't heard back.

Just wondering if this is from the… read more

Knees?

Knees?

Hi, folks:

Has anyone had swollen, debilitating knees that actually did ultimately respond to any of the meds, and resolved?

Or should I just be accepting that this will never change and it's just advancement of RA? I've tried several of the biologics so far, and my legs don't respond at all.

I never had OA, and have only been impacted by these swollen legs now since May or June of this past year.

I've also read that people have steroid shots to help, but that that's temporary and… read more
