Any tips on managing pain and fatigue during the work week? My Dr told me to stay away from things like Aleve and I'm struggling while we are trying to get my steroid dosage lower.

Stopping Pain Meds

Stopping Pain Meds

Would like opinions. As I've stated, excluding my right foot, I've had limited pain so far since the RA diagnosis. My pain usually comes and goes in an area but I can tolerate it. My x-rays shows no joint damage yet. Anyhow, I was thinking about not taking the aleve twice a day no longer. He increased my Methotrexate because of my fatigue and right foot hurting, but as I said the pain is tolerable. I know eventually I'll need to take pain meds but why constantly take aleve when I don't need… read more

Has Anyone Ever Had Severe Tailbone Pain W/ Their RA?

Has Anyone Ever Had Severe Tailbone Pain W/ Their RA?

My 19 yr old daughter has RA & has had terrible pain in her tailbone for a few days now. She was recently diagnosed and has started plaquenil. Advil and Aleve have done nothing. She finally took a steroid today b/c her pain is so bad. But she hates taking them b/c they make her gain weight.

Prednisone really helps but weight gain is terrible for the pregresssion of RA.
I hate to take it but I will when I can't stand the pain anymore.

Any Advice? I Need Some Relief?

Any Advice? I Need Some Relief?

Why aren't any of my meds working? I'm on 1200 mg gabepentin, 3000 mg glucosamine, 200 mg trazadone, 15 mg melatonin, 40 mg mobic, 3 mg risperdal, 40 mg celexa, calcium, d3, a once a week 50,000 unit of D2, plus a few other daily meds & more than my limit of Aleve, Excedrin & Advil. I have no insurance so I'm very limited to changing any of these meds. But I'm open for suggestions. I'm getting very little to no relief from any of them right now. Any advice???

Pain Relief

Pain Relief

What does everyone do for pain relief? I've been on Norco but it barely touches the pain and my MD changed me from every four hours to every six hours which is just stupid. Now my life is breakthrough pain. I finally got a referral to a pain specialist and I want to know what works for people? Advil and Aleve do nothing for me. Eventually I hope to be on a Biologic that will take away the pain, then I can go off those meds, but in the meantime I have ZERO quality of life.

What works/doesn't work for… read more
