How to explain RA

Too much Gabapentin and for too long?

Too much Gabapentin and for too long?

I've been using Gabapentin for ten long years and am on a massive dose (800mg morning/ 300mg lunchtime/800mg bedtime). I'm starting to feel completely out of it, memory loss, sluggish, can't even complete sentences because I can't think of the word needed to do so. I suffer with neuropathy (RA/Sjogren's/Lupus) but am so sick of feeling exhausted and out of it. Any suggestions? I want to feel somewhat alive again instead of feeling worn out all the time. Maybe it's the… read more

Methotrexate use only

Methotrexate use only

Hello everyone! I hope you all are well. I just did my second dose of methotrexate yesterday .5ml injection. No problems. I still have stiffness in my fingers and wrist and a little flare in my shoulder and jaw but Alevs took care of that. Next month my doctor is moving me to 1ml per week of methotrexate. I'm wondering if any of you just use methotrexate only and no biologicals. I pushed her to start me on them right away but because I have minimal swelling and too few joint involvement she… read more

Not a Superhero or Superman...just lucky to be alive...

Hello team,
Not a Super hero or Superman, but maybe just a lucky man......

I have recently employed a new chap who to be honest is very keen to impress me. But his enthusiasm almost led him get himself killed.
I recently was asked to take on a contract cleaning newly constructed houses for a local company. Now with my RA in mind i was reluctant to take on the contract as i knew this would mean the need to clean first and second floor… read more

Is getting a RA diagnosis extremely difficult?

Is getting a RA diagnosis extremely difficult?

I have been seeing a rheumatologist regularly since November 2016 for joint pain. It has been in my fingers, toes, ankles and knees. Since February my left knee has been in pain off and on, sometimes it is severe and sometimes is better but never goes away. When it is in severe pain it pops and I swell up behind my knee in what they have called a smaller bakers cyst. I also recently have had enough swelling around my ankles to cause bruising where my socks are. I… read more

Pregnenolone

Pregnenolone

I just started pregnenolone, an over the counter hormone supplement from health food stores or amazon, because it is stated that it helps RA and Lupus. I definitely feel better in just two weeks. Try to start low 5-10 at the most. Has anyone else had success or tried it?

How many of you had a childhood that was abusive or something drastic ocurred in childhood, abusive childhood, death?

How many of you had a childhood that was abusive or something drastic ocurred in childhood, abusive childhood, death?

The reason I ask is that I belong to a RA research group which I am not allowed to reveal here according to the rules here I think. They have been looking into some traumatic event that might have made the propensity for RA to show up that might not show in a person without RA. I hesitate to tell this but every word is the truth (I do have family members still alive). I was abused both physically… read more
