RoActemra (known as Actemra in the US) is the brand name for tocilizumab, and yes, it is a well-established biologic used to treat moderate to severely active RA in adults who haven't responded well enough to other DMARDs.

It works by blocking inflammatory proteins (cytokines) from activating immune cells, which helps reduce inflammation. It can be taken in two ways:

- Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) — once a week or every two weeks
- IV infusion — once every four weeks at a clinic

The injection form is convenient because it can be self-administered at home using a prefilled syringe, which many people with RA appreciate.

It's worth noting that it can take around 4 to 8 weeks to notice its effects. Always discuss any side effects or concerns with your rheumatologist, as with any biologic, there are risks such as increased susceptibility to infections.
