Getting an attorney is a smart move! Here are some tips from others who have been through the process:

- Choose wisely β€” look for an attorney who specializes *only* in disability cases, not a general practice lawyer
- Gather everything β€” collect all medical records, test results, X-rays, and blood work related to your RA
- Document your symptoms β€” write down how RA affects your daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and shopping
- Be patient β€” processing can take three to five months, sometimes longer
- Don't give up if denied β€” most people aren't approved on the first attempt, but appeals are possible and do succeed As one myRAteam member shared after being denied twice, they kept pushing with an attorney handling their appeal and eventually found success. Another member got accepted on their second attempt using a free legal aid service.

Persistence really does pay off here. Wishing you all the best on this journey! πŸ’ͺ
