Has anyone just started Adaminumab ( Humira)

If you have just started Adaminumab (Humira) how’s it going? Are you having any side effects? I’m only 3 doses in taking it every other week. Please let me know how your experience has been I’d like to compare notes with anyone on this same journey. Thank you so much!😊

Starting a new biologic like Humira (adalimumab) is a big step, and it's completely normal to want to compare notes with others! Three doses in is still early days — biologics typically take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to begin working, with maximum effectiveness usually reached around 12 weeks. So hang in there! 💪 As for side effects, here's what's commonly reported with Humira:

- Infections (like upper respiratory infections)
- Headaches
- Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, or irritation)
- Rash

There are also some rare but more serious side effects to be aware of, including severe infections, allergic reactions, and low blood cell counts. It's always worth flagging anything unusual with your rheumatologist promptly. Hoping things will turn around for you and this is just a bump in the road. Perhaps you’re having a bad flare while your body is adjusting to the new med. Praying that the pain subsides and that the meds begin working again and give you pain free days. Stay strong & positive 💪

I've been on it for 2 months. After a few weeks, I noticed some improvements to my hands and feet. However at about 6 weeks, I began to feel worse again. It's as if my body is over-ruling the medicine and I'm having more pain. I'm pretty sure that my doctor will want me to stay on it for at least 3 months before trying something else. My insurance also has a 3 month try and fail approach to approving certain biologics.
