Sudden, severe hip pain with RA is something many people can relate to, and it can feel absolutely overwhelming. Other myRAteam members have described their hip pain as throbbing and unbearable, with some calling it their "number one issue." RA-related hip pain can also spread beyond the hip itself. You might feel it in:
- The groin
- The buttocks
- The outer thigh
- Down the inside of the leg
- The lower back
One myRAteam member shared that their "hips, legs, and lower back" all hurt at the same time. Severe pain can also come with other symptoms like joints that lock, stick, or make grinding noises. Some members find it impossible to sleep on their side during bad flares.
