RA-related eye pain and burning can be linked to a few different causes:
- Dry eye / Secondary Sjögren's Syndrome – reduced tear production that causes a burning, gritty sensation
- Scleritis – inflammation of the white part of the eye, which can cause deep burning pain
- Uveitis – inflammation inside the eye, causing pain, redness, and sensitivity to light
- Peripheral Ulcerative Keratitis (PUK) – inflammation of the cornea, causing pain and light sensitivity
