Enbrel is a biologic medication that works by targeting a specific protein in the immune system to reduce inflammation. Like many RA treatments, it can take time to build up in your system and start showing noticeable results.

Some people report experiencing:

- Temporary increases in joint pain or fatigue early on
- Injection site reactions like redness or swelling
- A general feeling of being "off" in the first few weeks

The adjustment period can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Many people don't feel significant improvement until around 3–6 months into treatment.

It's really important to keep your rheumatologist updated on how you're feeling during this time. They can help determine whether what you're experiencing is a normal adjustment or a sign that the medication isn't the right fit.

Don't stop taking Enbrel without speaking to your doctor first, even if things feel rough early on — stopping suddenly can sometimes make symptoms worse.

Enbrel was a miracle drug for me. Worked until caused lung issues. Had to stop
