Can Baker's cysts develop on the insides of your wrists if you have RA?

Baker's cysts specifically form behind the knee when excess synovial fluid accumulates in the popliteal bursa (the space at the back of the knee). They're named after the surgeon who first described them and are associated with knee joint inflammation.

What you're experiencing on your wrists sounds like it could be a different type of fluid-filled cyst, possibly ganglion cysts, which are common in people with RA and can develop around the wrist joints. These form when synovial fluid leaks from joints or tendons and creates a lump.

Since you have bumps in the same spots on both wrists and have RA, it's important to have your rheumatologist or healthcare provider examine them. They can determine exactly what type of cysts these are and recommend appropriate treatment.

The good news is that wrist cysts related to RA can often be managed similarly to Baker's cysts - through treating the underlying RA, possible drainage, steroid injections, or other interventions depending on their size and symptoms.

Use emu oil on the Baker cyst. It dissolved mine. Make sure it is organic 100% pure emu, no added ingredients.
