Hi Patricia, I bought it on Amazon, got it in January. I use it every day. The warmth seems to be going deep. It feels very therapeutic 🤗

How can elderly RA patients cope with broken or weakened tendons?

When tendons are damaged or broken in elderly RA patients, several treatment and coping strategies can help manage pain and restore function.

Surgical Options

If tendons are severely damaged, surgery may be recommended:

* Tendon release surgery - Disconnects damaged ligaments to reduce pain
* Tendon transfer surgery - Moves healthy tendons from one side of a joint to another to restore movement
* Tendon repair surgery - Directly repairs damaged tendons

Non-Surgical Support

For managing daily life with weakened tendons:

* Assistive devices - Use tools to help with gripping utensils, turning doorknobs, and opening jars
* Splints - Wear supportive splints to stabilize weak joints and protect tendons
* Mobility aids - Consider canes, walkers, or supportive footwear to reduce strain

Pain Management

Pain medications can help relieve discomfort from both inflammation and tendon damage. Work with your rheumatologist to find the right combination of treatments.

Recovery Considerations

After tendon surgery, rehabilitation may be required for several days. Discuss recovery times with your healthcare provider before any procedure to plan appropriately.

It's important to work closely with your healthcare team to determine which approach is best based on the severity of damage and your personal goals.
