Members shared deeply relatable experiences of debilitating hand pain, with many describing swollen sausage-like fingers, thumbs that point in wrong directions, and the inability to open jars or make a fist due to both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including soaking hands in warm water, wearing bamboo compression gloves from Amazon (like Ansmio or Grace & Able brands), applying Arnica cream throughout the day, taking anti-inflammatory medications like Celecoxib, and using thumb or wrist splints during flares. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error journey of finding what works, the importance of patience and self-compassion, and the humor and solidarity found in needing multiple pairs of gloves in different colors to feel fashionable while managing chronic pain.

I have Osteoarthritis in my wrists and CMC Thumb joints! Celecoxib helps me with inflammation and otc Tylenol! I use all lot of my Arnica creams all day long when it really bothers. I have Bamboo Compression Gloves that I wear at night to sleep and also put them on during the day if my hands hurt or are cold feeling! The Ansmio Bamboo Compression Gloves from Amazon are great! Less than $10 a pair too! But, no color choices like those expensive ones from Grace & Able. So save money and wear light Grey or spend 6 x as much for color choices! Hmm.... Grey is good! I have Grey hair, might as well wear Grey gloves don'tcha think? Lol 😆

@A myRAteam Member I buy the Gave &Able but only when they are on sale. They have been the best ones for me. I have a basket full of different brands lol

Yes, and neuropathy makes it worse. Haven't worn jewelry in months. I take Tylenol OTC, methotrexate and Tizanidine, a muscle relaxer.

Experiencing severe pain, swelling and unusual warmth in my right thumb was the beginning of RA for me. I was 21. Now I'm 68 and RA has taken over.
