Members shared lightweight shoe recommendations for someone dealing with foot pain, with Skechers slip-ins and Brooks coming up most often as comfortable, easy-to-wear options. Several members also mentioned ASICS, Vionic, and Birkenstock as helpful choices, especially for those with flat feet, plantar fasciitis, or arthritis. A practical tip shared was to try shoes on at a local store, take a photo of the box, and order from Amazon for a better price, along with the suggestion to search online for the best shoes for arthritic feet.

Sketchers has a slip-in line of shoes that I love. They are super comfy, lightweight, and you don't need to bend to put them on. https://www.skechers.com/technologies/comfort-t...

What are some good lightweight tennis shoe options for rheumatoid arthritis?

Several myRAteam members have found success with specific sneaker brands that offer both comfort and support for RA:

Recommended brands include:
- New Balance - praised for their "generous toe box" which accommodates swollen feet
- Asics - offers various widths and supportive styles
- Avia - provides stability and neutral shoe options
- Vionic - their Pace slip-on sneakers feature Velcro elastic straps that adjust when feet swell

When shopping for tennis shoes with RA, look for these features:
- Wide or extra-wide fits to accommodate foot swelling
- Good arch support and cushioning
- Rigid soles that only bend at the toes
- Removable footbeds for custom orthotics if needed
- Adjustable closures for days when swelling varies

It's also helpful to have multiple pairs to rotate throughout the week, as wearing the same shoes daily can strain muscles and joints differently and potentially lead to overuse issues.

Hi, I have mutiple foot problems. I have flat feet, I have plantar fasciitis and I have two bones spurs in each foot. I was playing pickle ball six days a week and then I cut it down a three days a week and I fell in December and I haven’t played any time since. my Podiatrist suggested acis, vionic, Brooks, and there was a couple other that I can’t remember. What I did as I went to my local DSW I tried them all on took a snapshot of the box and I ordered them from Amazon for cheaper. I use to wear sketchers and my Podiatrist doesn’t like sketchers. although I used to wear them at work at one point, I settled on acis and everybody I told about him tends to like them. Good luck!
